On the Menu – QEII Farmer’s Market

It’s our final week for 2012!  We have lots of holiday flavours on the menu –

Honeyspoon Blend Granola – Our signature blend of oats, almonds and hemp hearts coated in a delicious caramelized honey butter and toasted to golden, clumpy perfection.

Maple,Pecan and Olive Oil Blend Granola – This blend of oats, pecans, coconut flakes, sunflower seeds and pepitas, toasted with maple syrup and olive oil is a whole foods, vegan extravaganza!

Double Coconut Blend Granola – Back this week by popular demand! Two times the coconut, two times the delicious flavour! Baked with organic extra virgin coconut oil and containing coconut flakes, cashews, pumpkin seeds – lightly sweetened with maple syrup – this granola is vegan, wholesome and just a touch tropical. An island holiday in a bowl!

Spiced Pumpkin, Almond & Millet Granola– You asked for it, now it’s here – a granola with no refined sugar, and no added oil.  Made with spiced pumpkin puree and almond butter, sweetened with honey and studded with pumpkin seeds, millet and almonds – this healthy and delicious granola is your perfect fall breakfast!

Salted Caramel Pecan Blondies – buttery blondies with toasted pecans and caramel bits, finished with a sprinkling of sea salt. Made with almond and coconut flours – completely gluten free and completely delicious.

Flourless Beetroot Chocolate Cupcakes – moist flourless cupcakes with chocolate and beetroot.  And no, you can’t taste the beetroot – it just makes them really rich and moist.  Finished with a dollop of buttercream icing – yum!

Orange, Almond and Buckwheat Mini Bundt Cakes – citrusy little cakes with a moist interior and chewy exterior.  Made with almond and light buckwheat flours, they are deliciously gluten free!

Spicy Sweet Almonds – almonds baked in a delicious mixture of organic cane sugar, chili flakes, sea salt and fennel. A taste sensation packaged for giving or snacking.

Coconut Honey Macaroons – Crispy and chewy coconut macaroons sweetened with Nova Scotia honey and organic cane sugar. Drift away on a cloud of coco-nutty goodness.

Lebkuchen – Based on traditional spiced German cookies, these lebkuchen are made gluten free with almond and buckwheat flours.  Crystallized ginger, orange marmalade, molasses, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, icing…what more could you ask for?  These moist and fluffy morsels are sure to become a holiday favorite!

Glad to be back at the QEII this week.  Here’s what’s on the menu:

Mini Pumpkin Bundt Cakes with Maple Cream Cheese Glaze – moist pumpkin cake, made with almond flour and lightly sweetened with maple syrup. Baked in a mini bundt pan, flavoured with nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger,  topped with a maple sugar sweetened cream cheese glaze, this little cake is as cute as a button – and delicious too!

Rustic Apple, Ginger, Lemon & Pecan Tartlets – millet, quinoa, almond and brown rice pastry flavoured with lemon and olive oil, topped with pecans, demerrara sugar, fresh grated ginger, lemon zest and local apples.  Lightly sweetened, zesty and fresh, this tartlet can stand on it’s own, but is also wonderful paired with vanilla ice cream.

We got our start at the Halifax Crafters Market six months ago, and are happy to be back for the Beary Merry Market with lots of new things, including some holiday goodies!

Chocolate Granola Bark – Like granola?  Like chocolate?  You will love Granola Bark!  We take our Maple, Pecan and Olive Oil Granola and enrobe it in a mixture of Belgian milk chocolate and organic dark chocolate.  Studded with candied orange pieces, it’s a delicious holiday treat, packaged and ready for giving.
